Sofitel Cotonou hosted from 11 to 12 November last the first edition of the Shareholder Fair. It aims to promote digital shareholding.

Through the theme “shareholding in the era of digitalization”, the event is presented as a lever for modernization of the economy and transformation of financial services in the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA). This show brought together a hundreds of managers from financial institutions in the eight member countries who discuss in particular the regional financial market of the UEMOA between reforms and development challenges and challenges related to innovations technological and digitalization.

Addressing digitalization, the central theme of the show, the Secretary-General said that it simplified market access, increased transparency and encouraged the participation of new investors, especially young people.
