Central Congo (BCC) chose Friday, November 7
last the city of Kisangani, capital of Tshopo province, in
north-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, to house a retreat of
reflection aimed at the development of the strategic plan of this institution
banking for the next few years.
Strategic retirement is an opportunity
to draw up a complete inventory and define the main directions of
the Bank's policy for the years to come. “We are going to maintain, in Kisangani,
a retreat to reflect on the Central Bank's strategic plan. Faire
an inventory, analyze the situation of the institution, and define what is
the strategic plan that should allow the Central Bank to develop and
to fulfill its constitutional and sovereign missions”, declared Mr. André
Wameso, Governor of the Central Bank of Congo, during the audience with the Governor
interim of the province, Ghislain Mogenya Baraka. According to the latter, retirement
will also provide an opportunity to discuss the challenges of the banking sector and
initiatives to be put in place to support the economic development of
Democratic Republic of Congo.
The Central Bank of Congo expects that the conclusions of this strategic retreat will lead to the publication of an ambitious strategic plan, intended to strengthen its missions constitutional and sovereign rights and to modernise its functioning to better meet the economic needs of the country.
