A partnership was signed on 11 December 2025 between the National Office of Civil Status and Identification (ONECI) and United Bank for Africa (UBA) . This agreement aims to strengthen banking supervision systems in Abidjan-Plateau

The collaboration between ONECI and UBA aims to to strengthen identity control and reliability mechanisms. The partnership is also looking for the provision of solutions ONECI authentication in order to improve and simplify procedures. According to the managing director of UBA Côte d'Ivoire, Tony Odeiyah this collaboration will last “over a long period of time”. He believes that the efforts are not are “never done enough” in favor of security, to reassure customers.

For his part, ONECI boss, Ago Christian Oka, assured that the office remains “open” to all banks and other institutions in need of certifying and authenticating identity, aiming to make the banking sector accessible to all.
