The outstanding credit of Senegal's decentralized financial systems (SFD) stood at 454.322 billion FCFA (about 681.483 million euros) in the second quarter of 2019, according to data from the Directorate of Regulation and Supervision of SFDs.

Compared to the same period of 2018, when it stood at 402.726 billion FCFA, this outstanding amount is up 12.81% year-on-year.

In quarterly variation, the outstanding loans increased by 4%, from 436.962 billion FCFA at the end of March 2019 to 454.322 billion FCFA at the end of June 2019.

As for outstanding deposits, they followed the same upward trend, standing at CFAF 356.390 billion in the first half of 2019 compared with CFAF 322.784 billion in the same period of 2018, an increase of FCFA 33.606 billion and 10.41% in relative value.

In quarterly variation, the outstanding amount of these deposits increased by 3.32%, from CFAF 344.915 billion at the end of March 2019 to CFAF 356.390 billion at the end of June 2019.

The rate of outstanding receivables stood at 4.30% during the second quarter of 2019 against 5.31% in the same period of 2018, an improvement of 1.01 percentage points.

On a quarter-over-quarter basis, the same downward trend is noted. The delinquency rate fell from 4.40% in Q1 2019 to 4.30% a quarter later, a regression of 0.10 percentage points.

However, this rate is still above the EU prudential standard of 3% (portfolio at risk at 90 days).
