Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) hailed Senegal's economic performance in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. She described the Senegalese economy as dynamic, well above the average for sub-Saharan Africa.

This allowed him to approve the choices of the Senegalese authorities in terms of budgetary priorities and the use of the CFAF 246 billion from the allocation of Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) from the IMF. Resources have been directed towards priorities such as local production of vaccines, employment of young people, diversification of the economy and strengthening of the private sector.
