Monday, October 27, 2025, the Investment and Development Bank of ECOWAS (Bidc)
has approved a 40 million USD credit line to Vista Gui in order to extend the
financing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and strengthening
commercial activities.
A press release indicated that a line of
Credit is part of the wider initiatives of the BIDC aimed at
catalyzing private-sector-led growth across the region
from ECOWAS grace
to targeted support to national financial institutions (NFIs). During the
ceremony, Dr George Agyekum Donkor, President of the BIDC and its Council
of administration, reaffirmed the Bank's commitment to a
inclusive and sustainable development through the empowerment of the private sector. He
emphasized that investing in the private sector is an important tool
to combat the youth unemployment challenge facing the
subregion.
The latter indicated that “this facility underlines the the determination of the BIDC to expand access to finance for SMEs and SMIs, which are the backbone of our economies, employ the majority of the workforce work and contribute to the regional value chain.”
Vista Gui welcomed this partnership,
underlining its catalytic effect on the growth trajectory of
the institution and its service to the real economy in Guinea. Thanks to this
new credit line, the BIDC reinforces its role as a partner of
confidence-building of the financial sector in West Africa.
