Gabon campaigns for the creation of the Bank African Energy Agency (BAE). Supported by the Organization of Producers of African Petroleum (APPO), of which he is a member, this pan-African project is evaluated to nearly 328 billion CFA francs.

The aim of the project is to return the Bank African Energy Authority (BAE) operational by 2026 in order to finance, on the continent, energy projects now neglected by donors Westerners. Faced with the growing disengagement of international banks under the pressure of ESG criteria (Environment, Social and Governance), Africa intends to build its own tools to support exploration and production of hydrocarbons, which are still essential for its development.

For Gabon, this is a lever for economic survival and a decisive step towards autonomy financial.
