The Africa HealthTech Export 2025 bootcamp was inaugurated on Monday, November 17. An event
which brings together startups, investors and institutions from countries like
Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal and Togo, and is organized in partnership with the
Phi Hub innovation center.
The Africa HealthTech Export 2025 Bootcamp aims to promote the growth of startups despite the drop in investments and the high potential in the sector. The sessions focused on fundraising strategies. of funds, market expansion and the regulatory framework for devices digital medical devices in Benin and within Economic and Monetary Union West African (UEMOA). According to Jean-Christian Omyale, regulatory affairs manager for health solutions digital regulation within the German pharmaceutical group Merck, should promote the development of health technologies rather than brake it. Africa HealthTech Export 2025, which ends on 21
November, comes at a time when the sector is expanding, but is experiencing
a downturn. Healthtech startups attracted over 1 billion
dollars in funding across Africa over the last five
years. However, according to Partech,
investments fell by 70% in 2024 compared to the previous year.
Despite this downturn, the sector's potential remains high.
