The World Bank is preparing new budget support for Togo. The information was given on Tuesday
August 27 by Thierry Yogo (photo), senior economist of the multilateral institution, on the occasion of the workshop of the
review of reforms at the end of June 2019.
"The new budget support operation underway will undoubtedly consolidate the achievements of both
latest operations and accelerate the reform package already undertaken in the areas of
efficiency public procurement and strengthening the financial sustainability of the health sector," he explained,
welcoming "the progress made in the last two years".
If no information has filtered out regarding the amount of this new boost, the Manager
suggested, however, that the Bank's last two operations, in 2017 and 2018, totalled 92

Almost zero in 2014 and 2015, the amount of budget support received by Lomé increased from 11.3 billion in
2016 and 2017, at 34.9 billion last year, according to recent data from the BCEAO. An increase
