On Friday, September 12, 2025, in Douala, the Prime Minister Cameroonian, Joseph Dion Nguté, presided over the joint ceremony to lay the first stone and the signing of financing agreements for the plant aluminium processing by Proalu SA.

The establishment of the aluminum processing plant for the Proalu SA company, a subsidiary of Prometal Group, the leader in transformation of steel in Central Africa, will be partially financed by a consortium of three local banks and Proparco. BGFI Bank, Societe Generale Cameroon, Afriland First Bank and the AFD subsidiary dedicated to financing the sector private companies will inject a total of 54.4 billion CFA francs into this project. This envelope represents 61.8% of the overall cost of the project estimated at 88 billion FCFA.

The industrial complex under construction in the industrial zone of Bassa in Douala is the realization of the memorandum of understanding Investment and commercial contract signed on 13 August 2024 between Proalu SA and the State of Cameroon. The Gabonese banking group BGFI is injecting the largest envelope of 15.55 billion FCFA into this project.
