projects and programmes have already been implemented in this direction, but the State Secretariat in charge of
Financial Inclusion just adopted a National Financial Inclusion Strategy (Snif) last weekend.
This strategy aims to enable Togolese to benefit from financial products. The Snif was
developed on the basis of the full results of the financial inclusion diagnosis , according to the process
"Making Access to Financial services Possible - MAP". One
process that included the findings of the FinScope 2016 study (report that builds on research and
national surveys as well as qualitative research conducted in the country), the findings of
the study on supply and regulation, as well as Togo's financial inclusion roadmap which has
set out national priorities for improving financial inclusion.
Snif has also integrated the orientations of the National Development Plan (NDP 2018-2022)
in particular in its axis 3 which aims to "Consolidate social development and strengthen mechanisms
of inclusion". The Strategy also took into account the orientations of the Regional Inclusion Strategy
financial (SRIF) of the Bceao whose visions and objectives enshrine permanent access to services
financial and effective use by WAEMU populations of a diversified range of products and
adapted and affordable financial services.
