At the end of December 2021, the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) recorded an increase of 584 billion FCFA in these external assets.

The net foreign assets of the BCEAO recorded an increase of 583.6 billion FCFA (875.400 million euros) at the end of December 2021 compared to the end of November 2021, according to data established by this issuing institute based in Dakar. These assets (difference between claims on non-residents and liabilities to these non-residents) amounted to 8878.4 billion FCFA against 8294.8 billion FCFA, an increase of 7.03%. In addition, central bank claims on other depository institutions amounted to CFAF 6,298.5 billion.
