Ukraine: Washington waits for Moscow to present its terms for a ceasefire

While Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accuses Moscow of “buying time”, the head of American diplomacy Marco Rubio said on Tuesday that he expected Russia to present “in a few days” its terms for a ceasefire in Ukraine. According to the Secretary of State, “at some point, quite quickly, maybe in a few days, maybe this week, the Russian side will present the terms it would like to see” to move towards a ceasefire. Marco Rubio for his part indicated that “general conditions that would allow us to move towards a ceasefire” that “would then allow detailed negotiations to be started to end the conflict”.
