Mohamed Lemine Ould Dhehbi informed that the bank noted the continuing rise in the inflation level, which is why the BCM wanted to raise the key interest rate again in order to contain inflation. These clarifications were made during a symposium bringing together several members of the government to comment on the government's economic performance. Earlier, last August, the BCM raised the key interest rate by 200 basis points.
