The new year 2023 has started at the Regional Securities Exchange (BRVM) with new Equity Market Compartments (Prestige, Principal and Growth) and two new stock market indices BRVM 30 and BRVM Prestige.

The vision of the new market configuration is to make the market more attractive, to adapt to changes in the capital markets and to comply with the best international standards. Indeed, the BRVM share market is organized into three compartments defined according to new criteria that are more representative of market developments. It takes into account the level of market capitalization, floating capital and compliance with financial reporting obligations.

In addition to its composite index, on Monday, January 2, 2023, the BRVM released the two new market indices. These are the “BRVM Prestige” index and the “BRVM 30" index, which thus come into effect with a base of 100. The “BRVM Prestige” index includes all the values listed on the Prestige Compartment. The review will be carried out on an annual basis according to the eligibility criteria of companies for the Prestige Compartment. As for the “BRVM 30" index, it brings together the thirty (30) most traded stocks over a quarter and which replaces the BRVM 10 index. It is more diversified and takes into account the evolution of market liquidity in recent years.
