A report published on January 19 by the African Development Bank (AfDB) mentioned that 10 African countries are expected to register average annual growth of over 6% in 2023 and 2024.

Togo is expected to record the lowest growth during 2023 and 2024, at (6.3%) on average per year. The Gambia (6.4%), Benin (6.4%), Mozambique (6.5%), the Democratic Republic of Congo (6.8%), Ivory Coast (7.1%), Rwanda (7.9%), Senegal (9.4%), Niger (9.6%), then Libya, which should register the strongest growth at 12.9%.

noted that despite persistent headwinds, such as geopolitical tensions, slowing global demand, and tighter financing conditions, several African economies are on track to achieve some of the highest growth rates in the world.
