In recent years, the cashew sector has registered strong growth, allowing Côte d'Ivoire to become the 3rd largest processor and supplier of cashew almonds in the world after Vietnam and India.

The Ivorian government is committed to making the cashew sector a major sector of the national economy. Indeed, Côte d'Ivoire will become the pioneer in the structural transformation of this sector in Africa and the major player in this sector in the world. The objective of the government is to create jobs and wealth in order to improve the living conditions of the populations.

In fact, over the past 10 years, the cashew industry has grown significantly, both in its production and in its processing capacity. In eleven years, Côte d'Ivoire has doubled its production, from 400,000 tons in 2011 to 1 million tons in 2022. At the end of the 2022 campaign, 1,028,172 tons of cashew nuts were registered. A production result that corresponds to an increase of 6% compared to the 968,676 tons recorded in 2021.
