It used the Methodology for the Evaluation of Procurement Systems, known MAPS by English acronym, a universal evaluation standard. The report also made recommendations for the next steps in the government's implementation of reforms. According to Bhagwansingh Dabeesing, a member of the Procurement Policy Office (PPO) and the evaluation team, once the recommendations were approved by the cabinet, the government would develop an action plan to implement them, in the short, medium and long term.
Mauritius has achieved good governance results and has shown strong political commitment to improve its electronic procurement system, which it implemented in 2015 according to the report.
