On Saturday, February 25, 2023, the president of the Association of Customers and Members of Authentic Financial Institutions (ACSIF/A) deplored in Thiès, the non-application by banks of the 19 free measures enacted since 2014 by the Central Bank of E&D States rsquo; West Africa (BCEAO).

Abdou Diouf, President of ACSIF/A, announced last Saturday that “in 2014, the Central Bank enacted 19 free measures” for the benefit of users of financial institutions. Indeed, according to the 19 measures of la BCEAO , among the services that must be free for the customer, there is the opening and closing of an account. According to Diouf, “banks must respect these measures laid down by the Central Bank” and therefore “the information sent by SMS to customers, which should be free, and which is billed to users, is not normal.”
