The Director of Rural Electrification at the Directorate General of Energy (DGE), Pacôme N'Cho announced that the Electricity for All (PEPT) program has registered the completion of 1,476,779 connections and subscriptions valued at 221.5 Most of the billions of FCFA prefinanced by the CIE since its launch in 2014 until the end of 2022.

The PEPT contributed, according to Pacôme N'Cho, to a significant increase in the number of electricity subscribers, from 1,315,837 in 2014 to around 3.6 million at the end of December 2022, with an improvement in the service rate of 27.9% in 2013 reached 65% in 2022. Indeed, according to him, this program allows the beneficiary to pay 1,000 FCFA as an initial contribution against a flat rate of 150,000 FCFA, the balance of which is paid over a period of ten years.

PEPT has contributed to reducing anarchic connections, improving the quality of service, and increasing the electricity service rate since its launch on October 13, 2014 in Odienné.
