The Republican police announced that seventeen (17) people were arrested on March 1, 2023 in Agoué, a district of the commune of Grand-Popo in the Mono department.

17 people including 4 women were arrested following a raid by elements from the Agoué district police station. They received information about the existence of a group based in a house and engaged in cybercrime. After their arrest, a search of the rooms resulted in the seizure of one (01) laptop containing compromising information, eighteen (18) android mobile phones and seven (07) new motorcycles.

These cybercriminals will be presented to the special prosecutor attached to the Court for the Suppression of Economic Offences and Terrorism (CRIET).
