The Congolese Construction Agency (ACGT) announced in a press release on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 that Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) planned construction of the Kasomeno-Kasenga-Mwenda strategic road in August of rsquo; current year.

In the press release published by ACGT, it is noted that “Zambia and the DRC have agreed on expectations, such as the start of the project, the process to be able to put in place the funding, the financial amount, but also Some adjustments need to be made at the level of the banks according to the partners and companies; they expect to be able to start work next August.” Indeed, the minister in charge of infrastructure in Zambia, Mr. Charles Milupi, led the delegation of the Congolese Construction Agency (ACGT) to exchanges and explanations by the head of the post office in Zambia. During their explanations, the two teams noted the weaknesses of the system, which will be improved during the implementation of the Kasomeno-Mwenda project.

According to the Director General of the ACGT Mr. Nico Nzau Nzau, this is an 880-m-wide bridge that must be dumped over the Zambezi River, with customs clearing infrastructures covering nearly 40 hectares.
