Find all the economic and financial information on our Orishas Direct application to download on Play StoreThe President of the World Bank Group, David Malpass, delivered his positioning speech at the Mahatma Gandhi International Conference Center on Thursday, March 30, in advance of the spring meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund scheduled to take place from 10 to 16 April 2023 in Washington. It was as part of his 48-hour working visit to Niger.
The message delivered by Malpass was about “Redefining a New Era of Development.” Indeed, the Head of State, HE Mr. Mohamed Bazoum, stressed the excellence of the relationship that exists between Niger and the Bank Group long before the positioning speech of the President of the World Bank (WB). He welcomed the alignment of the group's interventions with the priorities defined by Niger. Pu took the opportunity to appreciate the work done by the World Bank Group in Niger and the Sahel countries.
Malpass, President of the World Bank, for his part mentioned, in his positioning speech, the importance of education as an engine of growth and a way out of fragility and extreme poverty in the private sector in development, and stressed the need to foster change while remaining focused on reducing the poverty. To this end, he reaffirmed the commitment of the World Bank Group to support Niger in its sustainable economic development efforts.
