The Secretary General of the Maritime Organization for West and Central Africa (OMAOC), Paul Adalikwu, presented the main lines of his mission on maritime security and safety in Brazzaville on 31 March. It was in the presence of the permanent secretary of the Interministerial Committee for State Action at Sea and Continental Waters (SEPCIM-AEMEC).

Paul Adalikwu indicated that Congo will soon take over the current presidency of OMAOC. He spoke during the meeting with the Permanent Secretary of the Interministerial Committee on State Action at Sea and Continental Waters. According to him, the objective of OMAOC is to promote the sharing of experiences with all African states in partnership with the International Maritime Organization. Indeed, Dr. Paul Adalikwu cited the example of Nigeria, which, for two years, has not experienced any piracy incidents in its territorial waters. According to him, the country has achieved this by setting up a Maritime Security Architecture with an investment of five hundred million dollars that has enabled the acquisition of several equipment: aerial and maritime drones; surveillance and intervention boats to fight crime at sea.

He subsequently expressed his availability to work with the Congolese authorities to strengthen maritime safety and security for navigation in Congo's territorial waters.
