Pour une raison de Misappropriation 14,500 sheets intended for vulnerable communities in northeastern Uganda, a Ugandan minister was indicted by her country's anti-fraud court before & ecirc; to be taken into custody.

The regional minister in charge of its development is accused of embezzling and stealing 14,500 roofing sheets. Indeed, Mary Goretti Kitutu Kimono style="font-family: "Bookman Old Style”, "serif"> and her brother were both charged with two counts. The director of the country's public prosecution service Jane Frances Abodo announced that the two will be tried by the anti-corruption court in Kololo for acts of “corruption and conspiracy & raquo;, and “association of criminals with a view to defraud.” They will appear in court again on 12 April.

In reality Karamoja has been facing persistent droughts and floods when it rains for decades, leaving many people in the semi-arid region dependent on aid that is supposed to be provided by the government. At least 10 senior government officials are said to have received some of the stolen corrugated iron. The Vice-President of Uganda but also the Prime Minister and other ministers would thus have benefited from these flights.
