The Weekly Review, a specialized publication of the Finance Management Intermediation Company (SGI) based in Dakar, mentioned that Sonatel and Ecobank Côte d'Ivoire represented 49% of transactions in value on the market for shares of the Regional Securities Exchange (BRVM). This at the end of the week of 3 to 9 April 2023.

La société F Finance Management Intermediation (FGI) announced that Ecobank Côte d'Ivoire represents 19% of these transactions, while Sonatel represents 30%. However, these companies fell by 41.31% to 1.38 billion FCFA compared to 2.34 billion FCFA last week. Contrary to the previous week, volume trading was also down with 3,259,216 shares traded compared to 6,941,565 titles. In its publication, FGI points out that “a total of 18 stocks are up compared with 24 falling, 4 values have remained constant.” The equity market closed lower with BRVM Composite contracting by 0.49% to 199.62 points, BRVM 30 by 0.65% to 99.84 points and BRVM Prestige by 1.20% to 101.69 points at the end of the week under review.

FGI believes that “the underperformance observed this week is linked to the declines recorded in all sector indices except Other Sectors and Industry sectors, which recorded increases of 1.40% and 4.76% respectively this week.”
