Le mercredi 12 avril 2023, le Burkina Faso a levé an amount of 33 billion FCFA on the UEMOA financial market. There was a simultaneous u terme d' une émission auction of Treasury Bonds (BAT) with a maturity of 182 days and similar Treasury Bonds (OAT) with a maturity of 3 and 5 years.

The issuer auctioned 30 billion FCFA and was offered bids of 48.368 billion FCFA, representing a coverage rate of 161.23% of the amount auctioned. The amount of tenders rejected was 15.368 billion FCFA, corresponding to an absorption rate of 68.23%. And the one retained is 33 billion FCFA. Investors whose bids are successful will end up with a weighted average return of 6.31% for bonds, 7.16% for 3-year bonds, and 6.66% for 5-year bonds.

Burkina intends to repay the principal of the bonds on the first business day following the due date of March 16, 2026 for 3-year bonds and April 13, 2028 for 5-year bonds.
