Several initiatives of the Beninese State aim to promote Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the country. But the government's momentum is being held back.

Facilitating business creation, creating a one-stop shop, setting up mechanisms to meet the need for access to finance are some of the initiatives of President Talon's government to promote SMEs. Indeed, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) represent nearly 90% of the economic fabric. But they face a number of funding challenges. For this reason, the government has decided to facilitate the work of these SMEs/SMIs through the reforms undertaken.
