During the special program on cybercrime in Benin on Friday, April 21, 2023, 1.5 million euros, or about 1 billion FCFA belonging to suspected cybercriminals from Benin were frozen in an online bank in France.

A French online bank has reported that people living in Benin are making fraudulent use of its platform. Indeed, the bank has frozen 1.5 million euros, or about 1 billion CFA francs, belonging to suspected cybercriminals from Benin. Thus, the French online bank and Pôle-Emploi have joined forces with the Beninese authorities to denounce cybercrime. According to Ouanilo Fagla Medegan, director of the Information and Digital Systems Agency, “the figure that Pôle-Emploi gave in France on the number of connections coming from Benin is astonishing to the point where you wonder how many people are clicking every day trying to use Pôle-Emploi accounts to access French people's

identities.”
