Ousmane Mahamadine Kessou officially took office as the new Director of Supervision and Fraud Control within the General Directorate of Customs and Indirect Taxes on 29 May 2023. During a handover ceremony, the latter indicated that he was fully aware of his mission.

During the handover, Ousmane Mahamadine Kessou, now the director of surveillance and the suppression of fraud, expressed his gratitude to the transitional president, Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno, as well as the Minister of Finance, Budget and Public Accounts, for their trust in him. He indicated that he was fully aware of the crucial importance of his mission and of his responsibilities. According to him, “the fight against fraud requires our vigilance, our determination and our unwavering commitment. Together, we are the guardians of the integrity of our institution and the public's trust in us. Fraudsters relentlessly seek to circumvent our efforts, and we need to be united and resolute to counter them.”

“ I am convinced that our strength lies in our unity and collaboration. By sharing our knowledge, adopting innovative approaches and working hand in hand, we will succeed in preventing, detecting and punishing fraud more effectively,” he reassured
