Visa and GIM-UEMOA join forces to develop GIMpay, an innovative payments ecosystem for UEMOA countries.

Visa, the world leader in digital payments, and GIM-UEMOA, in charge of the interbank payment system in the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) zone, are delighted to announce their partnership in favour of GIMpay.

On the one hand, the populations of UEMOA will benefit from an interoperable solution, offering advanced features such as mobile payments, instant money transfers, online payments, customer loyalty solutions and many more. On the other hand, the partners will define a joint strategy for the growth of Fintechs in the region. GIMpay will rely on existing Visa and GIM-UEMOA infrastructures to ensure fast, secure and reliable transactions

Gimpay is an initiative that aims to improve the accessibility, security, and efficiency of electronic payments by offering new use cases adapted to the UEMOA region. Through this collaboration, Visa and GIM-UEMOA will work together to develop this interoperable ecosystem that will facilitate electronic transactions for individuals and businesses in the region
