Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. Launched a new AI model for industrial applications. Called Pangu 3.0, it aims to revolutionize the industrial application of AI in weather forecasting, drug development, the identification of faults in trains, and the mining industry

.

Huawei Executive Director and CEO of Huawei Cloud, Zhang Ping'an, presented the Pangu 3.0 model and Ascend AI cloud services at the company's developer conference. The company describes Pangu Models 3.0 as a system that can be rapidly adapted to meet needs specific to scenarios such as weather forecasting, drug development, train defect identification, and mining industry applications

.

According to Ping'an, Huawei Cloud Pangu models will allow everyone in every business sector to access an intelligent assistant, making them more productive and efficient. In mid-July, the company will present the first commercial case of Pangu Mining Model in Jinian Shandong province. Huawei has partnered with Shandong Energy Group to implement its model and optimize mining operations and make them less risky

.

The Pangu mining model uses vast amounts of data for pre-training, allowing unsupervised self-learning in more than 300 key coal mining scenarios. It applies AI in various coal mining operations, including excavation, tunnelling, machinery, transport, and communication

.

For the rail industry, the Pangu model contributes to the safety and efficiency of freight trains and reduces on-site manpower. The system also identifies problems in the transport system, such as large blocks of coal and anchors, with an accuracy rate of up to 98%
