With the aim of increasing wheat production and increasing farmers' incomes in Ethiopia, the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) provided grants totaling $84.3 million to the country.

The financing agreement was signed on August 2, 2023, in Addis-Ababa. It is intended for the implementation of the Climate Resilient Wheat Value Chain Development Project in Ethiopia. Indeed, the grant includes 54 million US dollars from the African Development Fund, the Bank Group's preferential lending window for low-income countries, 20 million dollars from the Government of the Netherlands, 10 million dollars from the agribusiness company OCP Africa, and 300 Old Style”, "serif"">000dollars from the World Center on l ' adaptation.

The project includes three components, including productivity and wheat production adapted to climate change; market infrastructure and agrofinance; project coordination and management.
