A statement from the British crime agency, the NCA, said that a Nigerian minister has been indicted for corruption in the United Kingdom.

Diezani Alison-Madueke, was a central figure in the Nigerian government between 2010 and 2015. She also held the presidency of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) according to the NCA statement. In the document, “the NCA suspects that it accepted bribes while serving as minister of petroleum resources against oil and gas contracts worth millions of pounds.” The former politician is accused of having benefited from at least 100,000 pounds in cash, cars with drivers, flights on private planes, luxury vacations for her and her family, use of multiple homes in London, including furniture, renovations, domestic workers, private school payments, gifts from high-end designers such as Cartier or Louis Vuitton, lists the NCA. She is expected to appear at a London court hearing on 2 October
