With the intention of buying with a 26% stake in a gas license off the coast of Australia, the energy producer TotalEnergies announced last Monday that it had signed an agreement with the Thai oil company PTTEP.

TotalEnergies said in a press release that the Japanese oil group Inpex will acquire the remaining 74% of PTTEP's stake in the AC-RL7 license and will act as operator. According to TotalEnergies, “the permit covers an area of 418 km2 located in the Timor Sea, approximately 250 kilometers northeast of the offshore installations” of the Ichthys LNG natural gas liquefaction plant and includes the Cash and Maple condensate gas fields
