As a tax measure, Dangote Cement Plc, a subsidiary of Dangote Industries Limited (DIL), said it had paid a total of N412.9 billion into federal government coffers.

Dangote Cement Plc released a statement saying that this huge tax payment from only one of the conglomerate's subsidiaries reaffirms Aliko Dangote's position that prompt and accurate tax payment is a duty for anyone who wants to see real growth and development, saying that the government cannot offer social services to citizens without collecting taxes. A total of N97.24 billion was paid by Dangote Cement in 2020, N173.93 billion in 2021, and N141.69 billion in 2022

The group advised the government to automate the county's tax system, while welcoming the inauguration of the Presidential Committee on Tax Policy and Tax Reforms.
