Réuni du September 5 to 15, 2023 at the Commission's headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria, the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Commission of the Economic Community of African States West (ECOWAS) evaluated the main mid-term results and carried out a performance review of the Bank's regional portfolio

In May 2020, the Bank Group approved a Regional Action Plan for West Africa for the period 2020-2025 as a programmatic and financial framework to support West Africa's regional integration efforts. The mid-term evaluation held last week focused on the current challenges of West African integration: challenges, opportunities and perspectives. It was also a review of the Bank's strategic direction and priority areas of intervention, priority projects common to the two institutions and the status of their cooperation.

The two partners also addressed relevant issues on economic affairs and agriculture, human development and social affairs, infrastructure, energy and digitalization, political issues, peace and security, transport and information and communication technologies.
