After appearing before the judge of the Special Criminal Court, the former Minister of Oil and Gas, Vincent de Paul Massassa, and the Minister of Public Works, Armel Bounda Balonzi, were imprisoned in the Gros-Bouquet Central Prison on the evening of Friday, September 22, 2023.

The two former ministers of the former regime are accused of having distinguished themselves, in the oil sector, with active corruption and in the public works sector with massive embezzlement. The arrest of these two former members of the government came following the operation launched by the new authorities in Libreville, to get hold of suspected financial offenders
