FAGACE mission in Abidjan: towards strengthening the interventions of the Guarantee Institution in Côte d'Ivoire

Since October 02, 2023, a delegation from the African Guarantee and Economic Cooperation Fund (FAGACE) has been staying in Abidjan in Côte d'Ivoire. This mission is part of the FAGACE promotional days in its member countries. To do this, on October 3, 2023, meetings were organized with banks, and Management and Intermediation Companies (SGI) at the PULLMAN hotel in Abidjan, then with the private sector at the headquarters of the Côte d'Ivoire Chamber of Commerce and Industry in order to present the mode of operation of FAGACE and its advantages. Noted that the African Guarantee and Economic Cooperation Fund has been committed since 1977, alongside its fourteen (14) member states, to facilitate their access to financial services, and support the growth of their economies.

National Credit Council: progress in the main indicators in the banking and microfinance sector

During the 40th session of the National Credit Council, Mamadou Moustapha Ba, Minister of Finance and Budget, indicated that the outstanding loans of banks operating in Senegal increased by 14.5% year-on-year to reach 6.891 billion FCFA at the end of June 2023. He also noted the improvement in the quality of the portfolio, and the rate of overdue claims net of provisions, which amounts to 3.5% of total loans. According to the latter, “the return on bank equity is satisfactory. It stood at 15.1% in 2022 compared to 15.3% in 2021.
