It was on Friday, November 17, 2023, that the High Authority for Good Governance (HABG) and the West African Development Bank (BOAD) signed a memorandum of understanding to fight corruption in Abidjan Cocody.

The agreement signed between the two HABG partners and BOAD testifies to the common determination to break with corruption and promote the improvement of governance. According to the president of HABG, Zoro Epiphane Ballo, cooperation with BOAD will allow the establishment of control systems and high standards. It ensures transparency, accountability, integrity, and the promotion of ethical practices in transactions

Pour ce qui le concerne, le vice-président de la BOAD , Braima Luis Soares Cassama voiced the hope that the implementation of this protocol will significantly reduce the room for manoeuvre of corruption actors. In accordance with article 4, paragraph 18 of Ordinance No. 2013-661 of 20 September 2013 governing HABG, the HABG will be responsible for preventing and combating corruption and similar offences. It will strengthen intersectoral coordination and develop cooperation with bodies involved in the fight against corruption, both nationally and internationally
