at 7:35 a.m. Today, attention will focus on the PMI indices in the eurozone and ISM in the United States of activity in the service sector before the report on paid employment in the United States in November, expected on Friday. The euro appreciated against the dollar this morning, with operators reevaluating the prospects of interest rate cuts at major central banks, including the US Fed, next year. According to Saxo Markets' Asia-Pacific strategists, market players seem to be reconsidering the possibility of a rapid Fed rate cut in 2024. They estimate that the probability of a rate cut in the first quarter has fallen to 67%, from 75% previously.
After reaching their lowest levels in more than two weeks the day before, oil futures stabilized this morning. At 7:25 a.m., the January contract for light sweet crude (WTI) listed on Nymex was worth 4 cents, at $73.08 per barrel, while the February contract for North Sea Brent was unchanged
at $78.03 per barrel.
