Dans le but de lutter contre les inondations au Togo, Axa Climate se met en accord avec Howden and the NGO PADIE to launch a parametric insurance project.

Five million people in 19 countries in West Africa were affected by devastating floods in 2022. For this reason, the project set up through the partnership between Axa Climate, an entity dedicated to climate and environmental adaptation of the French insurance company, the London-based broker Howden, the Togolese NGO Padie, and the Togolese local authorities, will allow the establishment of pre-established financing in the event of a flood, also capable of supporting adaptation to change.

The project will be co-financed by the latter, Axa Climate and the NGO Padie. Broker Howden will contribute up to $100,000 in the first year of the program, which is expected to launch at the end of the year. It has also obtained the funding agreement from the German InsuResilience Solutions Funds (ISF). The project will be implemented in three municipalities. It will be Kloto 1, Togo's fourth largest city, but also Golfe 1 and Golfe 7, two municipalities that depend on Lomé, the capital.
