Shell announced its intention to sell its shares several years ago, with the Austrian group Alcmene having long been considered the most likely buyer. Shell shares rose 0.8% to 2,540.00 pence per share on Friday morning in London. The company said it expected the deal to close by the end of the first half of 2024.
The British Prax Group, the new purchaser, is an independent multinational conglomerate specializing in the refining, trading, storage, distribution and retail of petroleum products.
