The Mango and Cashew Competitiveness Forum was launched on Monday, January 15, 2024 by the governor of Ziguinchor (south), Mor Talla Tine.

The meeting devoted to “the competitiveness of Casamance mango and cashew nuts” will last for two days. The aim of the two-day forum is to identify the difficulties that mango and cashew producers face, from production to marketing

The governor, Mor Talla Tine is delighted with the holding of this forum, which will allow actors in the cashew and mango sectors in the regions of Ziguinchor, Kolda and Sédhiou to focus on the real challenges of these two [fruits] that bring [...] real opportunities”.

In 2023, Senegal exported nearly 150,000 tons of cashew nuts from the port of Ziguinchor. This represents a financial value of more than 70 billion CFA francs
