On Wednesday, January 17, 2024, the State of Burkina raised an amount of 32.014 billion CFA francs on the WAEMU financial market. This was the result of a simultaneous issuance of 1- and 3-year treasury bonds (BAT) and equivalent treasury bonds (OATs), in order to ensure that the financing needs of its budget were covered

The State of Burkina put up for auction an amount of 30 billion FCFA and the overall bids from investors amounted to 38.464 billion FCFA, i.e. a coverage rate of the amount put up for auction of 128.21%. The amount of tenders accepted is 32.014 billion FCFA and that rejected at 6.450 billion FCFA, i.e. an absorption rate of 83.23%. The repayment of the bonds is scheduled for the first business day following the due date set on January 18, 2027
