From January 31 to February 2, 2024, the Political Conference of the Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Security Against Proliferation (ISP) of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) was held from January 31 to February 2, 2024, dedicated to African countries. This conference was organized by Morocco and the United States. Five (5) African countries including Benin have officially joined the ISP

The Political Conference of the Security Against Proliferation Initiative (ISP) of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) ended with the adoption by acclamation of the Joint Morocco-United States Declaration entitled eacute; e “Marrakech Declaration”. It takes into account an action plan based on 3 axes, in particular the encouragement of African countries that have endorsed the PSI to participate in future meetings of the initiative; the promotion of the organization of training and operational cooperation exercises and workshops for new African members of the PSI, and finally, joint action to encourage other African countries to endorse it through awareness-raising actions and the holding of r & regional and sub-regional unions.

Five (5) African countries have joined the ISP. These are Benin, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Zambia and Togo. This now brings the number of member countries to 111, or 11 African countries.
