Daouda Kanté, former Director General of the Economic and Social Development Fund (FDES), appeared on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the Kaloum Court of First Instance.

The former Director General of the FDES is being prosecuted through the State judicial agent, in a case involving 351 million 440 thousand Guinean francs. The defendant did not admit the facts. The case dates back to the day after the coup d'État on September 5, 2021. Daouda Kanté, former director of the Fund for Economic and Social Development, is being sued in the same way as his chief accountant, Ibrahima Sory Camara. The court, led by President Aboubacar Tiro Camara, referred the case to 6 March 2024 for the resolution of the alleged conflict of interest between the lawyers, and the appearance of some FDES agents cited by the prosecutor's office.
