The Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) held a meeting with the Minister of Economy, Planning and Development on March 18, 2024. The meeting was an opportunity for Sérgio Pimenta to reaffirm the commitment of his institution to strengthen its support for private sector development, economic growth and job creation

Discussions also focused on how the IFC can support the implementation of the National Development Plan (NDP) 2021-2025. The development of the private sector initiated by Côte d'Ivoire will experience a particular dynamic, according to the Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), who announced

“We have fast-growing operations. We believe that this fiscal year, we will be able to double our operations in Côte d'Ivoire and make 400 million dollars in financing that will be particularly aimed at supporting the agricultural sector, the food sector, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as access to energy and other important sectors. We also mentioned public-private partnerships, which are important partnerships to enable the private sector to contribute to the development of the Ivorian economy,” noted Sérgio Pimenta. At the end of the discussions, the Minister of Economy, Planning and Development recalled the priority actions of her department, in particular the 2021-2025 PND, financed largely by the private sector, of which the International Finance Corporation is a strategic partner
