The Customs Communication and Public Relations Division announced in a statement that the Kidira Customs Commercial Brigade seized 1,137.6 kilograms of cocaine in a truck from a neighbouring country on Sunday.

The Customs Communication and Public Relations Division reported that the 1,137.6 kg of cocaine was “packaged in blisters and put into bags hidden in the double bottom of a refrigerated truck coming from a country bordering Senegal”. According to the source, “the total value of the seized drugs is estimated at 90 billion 960 million CFA francs”. It is in fact the largest seizure of cocaine by land so far recorded in Senegal

According to the press release, customs units in the south-east remain mobilized to deal with illicit traffic resolutely in accordance with the guidelines given by the Director General of Customs during his recent visit to this customs region.
