On Monday, April 22, the Paris court granted an exemption to Pascaline Bongo who was accused of having agreed to intervene to help the French group Egis to set up in Gabon in return for money.

The president of the ^32nd Chamber, Brigitte Bourdon, indicated that the investigation did not establish that the eldest daughter of the late Omar Bongo and sister of Ali Bongo “had the power to award the contract” creating the” ; National Agency for Major Works (ANGT) of Gabon. According to the court, “it is not established that Pascaline Bongo had the right to award the ANGT contract as part of her functions or missions, or to facilitate [this award] through her functions or missions as high personal representative of the President of the Republic”.
